What I use to build things.
My setup is pretty simple. I don't chase the newest gear. If it works, I use it until it doesn't.
Workstation
14" MacBook Pro, M1 Pro, 32GB RAM (2021)
Over three years old and still doesn't break a sweat. Compiles Rust, runs Docker, handles everything I throw at it. No plans to upgrade until Apple forces my hand. This little guy is so good, I'll never be getting a windows laptop again.
Some 27" Asus monitor
I don't like it. Every time there's a bit of sun I can't see anything. It's on the list to replace but I got tricked by reviews, promo and Claude so here we are.
Blue Yeti
Solid mic that's lasted years. I use it for calls, video recordings, and maybe soon for dev streams.
Marshall Major IV
Good sound, comfortable for long sessions, and the battery lasts forever. What more do you need? I wish you could shut down its status light though.
Development
VS Code
I've tried other editors. I'm not a vim stan. It just handles everything and I don't need to figure out where's what. I do prefer Rust Rover for Move.
Ghostty
Fast, minimal, has tabs, does what a terminal should do. Switched from default Terminal and haven't looked back.
Claude / Claude Code
My favorite LLM for both thinking through problems and actually writing code. Claude Code has become part of my daily workflow.
Dispatch (coming soon)
I'm building my own Postman alternative because I got tired of the bloat. Tauri-based, fast, native. Eating my own cooking on this one.I mean, 14 seconds to launch Postman?
Design
Figma
I don't design everything before I build it (thanks shadcn) but when I do it's Figma time.
Recording
OBS
Using it to record demo videos and project walkthroughs. Planning to start streaming personal dev work at some point.
